AI, Reorgs, and Reality: How Do We Respond Together?
📌 Topic: Facing AI-driven change head-on: what we can realistically do as leaders and professionals
📅 Date: Wednesday, 25 February
⏰ Time: 5:00pm - 6:00pm CET | 8:00am - 9:00am PT
📍 Format: Moderated peer exchange + shared experiences + open discussion

Have you already reshaped your localization team or been asked when you will?
Have you been told to “do more with less,” with AI as the justification?
Have your team’s roles been questioned, reduced, or redefined?
Have you been asked to justify headcount in ways you never had to before?

If any of these sound familiar, you’re not alone.
Come and support the community.
Be part of the answer.
Share your experience.
Maybe, this is exactly what someone else needs to hear and theirs may help you navigate your next step.

🚀 Why Join and Contribute
✔ To hear how peers across companies are navigating the same pressure
✔ To test your thinking against real experiences, not assumptions
✔ To strengthen a community that’s facing this shift together
✔ To leave with language, ideas, and confidence you can take back to your organization

Participants are encouraged to share openly: successes, doubts, and open questions alike.
Let’s face the shift together. Because the best ideas are born from open conversation.

GALA Special Interest Groups

GALA SIGs are global communities that connect members on topics of shared interest led by volunteer moderators. Meet the moderators for the Client SIG.

Pia Bresnan, Uber

Pia is a strategic globalization leader with a proven track record in driving innovation at the intersection of localization and AI. With experience on both the client and vendor sides, she has built and led high-performing global teams, optimized complex localization workflows, and spearheaded best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability. Her expertise in business operations, program and process management ensures seamless go-to-market (GTM) operations in dynamic, AI-driven environments. As the industry shifts toward AI-enabled content and multilingual LLM evaluation, Pia is focused on developing robust strategies that enhance model quality, cultural relevance, and linguistic accuracy at scale. A dedicated advocate for professional growth, she actively mentors and volunteers with organizations such as Women in Localization, fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving meaningful transformation across the localization and AI ecosystems.

Julia Carrasco, Coupa

Julia oversees Localization Program Management at Coupa, where she coordinates various teams, identifies software support requirements, and maintains effective cost control. With over a decade of experience on both the client and the service provider sides, Julia has consistently prioritized optimizing processes to achieve outstanding results. She is also an active member of Women in Localization.

Esther Curiel, Zoetis

Esther Curiel is Diagnostics Globalization Manager at animal health leader Zoetis, where she leads localization and global-readiness initiatives. She has over 15 years’ experience building successful teams, enabling global growth, and breaking down communication barriers for global brands. She enjoys collaborating cross-functionally and bringing technology, content strategy, and global user experience together. Esther is a frequent speaker at industry events, and an active participant in globalization innovation.

Agnes Schöndorni-Schönner, GoTo Technologies Germany GmbH

Fuelled by a passion for connecting people and products across languages and cultures, Agnes thrives where technology and creativity intersect. With over a decade at GoTo (former LogMeIn), she started as a localization leader at a fast-growing startup and helped scale global efforts across UI, marketing, and documentation. Her role has evolved alongside the company, taking her across borders and into a global team where she now oversees web and marketing localization, with a focus on international SEO and driving major tech initiatives.

Prior to GoTo, Agnes honed her expertise with 10 years on the LSP front, mastering the entire localization cycle – marketing translations, editing, project management, vendor management, and terminology. This extensive foundation helps her shape a holistic view on how people and technology work together.

Join GALA SIGs

Our special interest groups are global communities that connect members on topics of shared interest. Explore and join GALA SIGs.

GALA's Client Special Interest Group is restricted to professionals from enterprise globalization teams. GALA continues to produce other SIGs, events and content each year to serve the entire GALA membership, but this particular group is designed for an under-served segment of our membership: those from "buyer-side" companies, to provide them with a safe space for open discussion and learning without the presence of vendors.
