Toronto, OntarioMultilingual Community Interpreter Services, MCIS Language Solutions is celebrating the announcement of an important new milestone. Two new appointments have been made to the Director’s team. Judy Abraham takes over as the Director of Client Services, and Eliana Trinaistic is the first-time appointed Director of Social Purpose, Impact and Culture in the organisation. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience and significant value to the team during the next stage of MCIS’ growth.

MCIS Executive Director Latha Sukumar welcomed the two newly appointed directors.

“Working shoulder to shoulder with Judy and Eliana for many years in their previous roles, I am thrilled by their appointment and the value they bring to MCIS as we continue to grow. Our focus on strengthening relationships with our valued customers and clients on the one hand and our commitment to embedding our social purpose throughout all aspects of our work while working with people and for people on the other will undoubtedly strengthen our sustainability and resiliency.”

- Latha Sukumar, MCIS, Executive Director

Judy Abraham has achieved many successes in her career, first as a college level instructor and facilitator, account manager and as a national sales manager working with all sectors and levels of government across Canada. Judy was involved with overseeing the expansion and technology transition of MCIS’ services in all provinces while maintaining strong connections and relationships with key decision-makers, service providers and language professionals. With her 20+ years of experience in the industry, MCIS has a senior leader who not only understands the intricacies of human and technological aspects of service but is also a champion of professionalised language services in Canada.

In her new role as a Director of Social Purpose, Impact and Culture, Eliana Trinaistic will continue her decade of working within the social sector locally and globally as a passionate language rights advocate, promoter of intrapreneurship (manifesting "purpose at work”) and believer in creating grassroots, organic and human solutions for a complex world. This role that emerged from many years of thinking and practical application of intentional social impact interventions is designed thanks to many individuals at MCIS who helped over the years to envision it, particularly the outgoing Head of System Development, Veronica Costea. The MCIS Social Benefits Fund ($130,000 annually), a collaborative, cross-functional, staff-driven community service that closes the gap where it is needed the most, will continue to support advocacy for access to critical information and services and uphold the human right to be informed, heard, and understood.
