GALA Global - Call for Content 2023

Every quarter, GALA publishes a Call for Content to invite translation, localization, and interpreting professionals to share their expertise by creating and contributing relevant content.

Submitted content should be original, informative, and engaging. It should address topics relevant to the industry. This can include localization and interpreting best practices, emerging trends and technological advancements, case studies, and industry insights.

You can write a blog post, an article, present a webinar, moderate a panel discussion, or do an interview with us. Opportunities abound! Contact [email protected] to discuss your ideas.

Please note: Our calls for content are open to GALA members and non-members alike. GALA members will receive priority for publication.

 

CALL FOR CONTENT Q4 2023

For our Call for Content for Q4 we want to delve into the limitless possibilities of innovation. 
 

  • Do you think the localization industry could use some more innovation?  
  • Picture a disruption that redefines the industry landscape. How would it revolutionize our way of doing things? 
  • When it comes to innovation, what's your company's philosophy? How important is innovation in your organization? 
  • Is there such a thing as too much innovation? Where should we draw the line? 
  • Has your company adopted any non-technical innovations in the past two years? We'd love to hear about your inventive solutions. 
  • Let’s talk about how innovation can contribute to an exit strategy. Any thoughts on that? 
  • Anything else? Let us know!
     
CALL FOR CONTENT Q3 2023

Our call for content for Q3 is threefold:

1. Academic researchers, trainers and professors: We invite you to share your cutting-edge research in linguistics, computational linguistics, translation, and interpreting studies. This is your chance to receive feedback from industry experts and practitioners! We would also like to receive articles and blog posts on how academia and the industry can work together to create better opportunities for the next generation of localization professionals.

2. Language service providers: We want to hear from LSPs that have deployed a live interpreting platform and/or an AI speech solution. What groundwork was required? What challenges have you encountered? What benefits have you experienced?

3. Client-side organizations: Have you implemented a headless technology? If not, why not? If yes, tell us about the groundwork required, the challenges you encountered, and the benefits you received.

We have GPT-4, Bard, Dolly and Ernie on our minds. So we want to hear from you about how you are using/planning/hoping to use GPT and other large language models. We want to know...

- How do you use GPT (or similar) in a localization environment?

- How do you use GPT in combination with other AI tools to improve your workflow? (from content creation to SEO, from optimizing pages to writing code, from translation to editing, and everything in between)

- Do you use GPT collaboratively? Tell us your best practices.

- Tell us about other fun and interesting ways you use GPT.
