Do Machine Translation Models Dream of your Corporate Terminology?

Companies face many tech challenges when leveraging terminology to customize the MT output due to scattered glossary support on the MT side. Pavel Doronin (Intento) has compared all the options, so you don’t have to:

  • adding a glossary during the model training
  • using natively stored glossaries
  • sending glossary terms with translation requests
  • applying them on top of MT via tag injection
  • automated post-editing based on word alignment models.

This talk shares our insights about the benefits and drawbacks of those approaches for different commercial MT engines and language pairs.

For a nice refresher on terminology management, we recommend our GALA Academy on Terminology Management. Experts will discuss PPT (i.e. People, Processes, and Tools. And yes, AI is going to be put to the test), how to make the case for terminology, how to leverage and harmonize data, and much more.

Digital Asset Management in Localization

In the world of media localization, the need to dynamically manage assets is critical. A digital asset management system (DAM) can help localization teams actively manage assets securely, with improved automation and collaboration features.

Jamie Cox from the Blizzard Localization team discusses when a localization team might find a DAM useful, what goes into setting up a DAM successfully, and how to manage future DAM iterations.

For more on games localization, don't miss next week's webinar: MTPE Outside the Box with AI (Part 2): Improve Quality, Cost and TATs in Game Localization, presented by Viveta Gene (Ionian University), Cristina Anselmi (EA) and Fernando Velasco (EA).
