Avatars and Robots and Holograms? Oh My! Bold new delivery technologies for interpreting service and support.

Presentation by and discussion with Dieter Runge | Co-founder, VP Global Strategy & Growth, Boostlingo

The pandemic forced the language support services industry to adapt and expand new ways for end-user language access, particularly in the realm of interpreting. With the rise of remote work, an increased demand for more remote interpreting service options led to an explosion and expansion of already well-established web and mobile communication delivery programs such as OPI (Over the phone/telephonic interpreting) and VRI (Video remote interpreting).

But technology innovation does not sleep and the development of new delivery methods for human interaction and communication continues. These advances in human communication delivery systems have relevant and very real-world application in and for remote interpreting and are beginning to surface everywhere.

We take a quick peek at some recent innovation that language service providers and remote interpreters are discovering they may soon need to contemplate and make room for as part of their professional life and repertoire in this new rapidly changing landscape of language technology. In this session, we will explore several exciting new technologies that are flowing out of the test labs and into the market today and are already quickly gaining credibility and potential as viable delivery methods for multilingual support.
