The advances happening with NLP AI in the past 2 years have all but confirmed that this is the next big area of language technology research which will bring further disruption.  Outside our industry the reach of this kind of AI has been getting high profile attention with the recent Google ethics discussion letting people know a lot more than maybe they wanted to know about AI and NLP (https://www.technologyreview.com/2020/12/04/1013294/google-ai-ethics-research-paper-forced-out-timnit-gebru).  

The current reality is that as there is more focus on this whole area globally, the amount of research has increased, and by extension the rate of change of technologies in the NLP AI space has increased almost to exponential levels.

This panel will explain in very simple terms what we mean by NLP AI, why people should care and what is happening right now that requires everyone's attention.
We will cover use cases, interesting examples, talk about vectors spaces and NLP frameworks, collaborative usage of NLP AI with other L10n AI,  and talk about things the GALA audience can and should be doing in this area.

This is a bounce forward technology for the industry and one which offers massive potential – in fact the use cases keep popping up all the time.  It is exactly the technology which will get companies to the next normal.
