Know Who You're Building For: The Importance of User Research for Global Organizations

Rarely would we consider launching a product or service in a foreign market without at least considering the local language. So why might we feel okay doing the same without considering local cultures, lifestyles, needs, fears, aesthetics, and more? Come to learn about the methods and value of user research in global contexts for understanding users and launching successful products and services with Ted McCarthy.

Ted McCarthy is a UX researcher with over a decade of experience spanning academia, consulting, and more than seven years at Google. The majority of his work has focused on learning about and designing solutions for technology users in the Global South. Since leaving Google, Ted has focused his energies on a podcast he co-hosts with a good friend (Woke Points), a Substack exploring the ways the internet is changing global culture, politics, economies, and freelance UX research consulting.

About the Client SIG
