AI: Adopt it or Die. The Unspoken Threat or Opportunity for LSPs
Throughout 2023, the interpretation and localization industry has been dominated by the dreaded ‘human or AI’ question, with both sides jumping to defend their place in the debate. But is it really helpful to see the two solutions through the lens of direct competition, or incompatibility? And what happens when we ask a client of language interpretation herself – more importantly, one whose organization is successfully using both human interpreters and AI speech translation for their various communication needs?
In this fireside chat, Valeria Cannavina – Linguistic AI Consultant at RWS– will be sitting down with KUDO CEO Fardad Zabetian to offer a real-world perspective on how to identify when a meeting or event calls for human interpreters or AI translation, using examples from her own organization.
The value of this session lies above all in its objectivity; we aim to provide a break from a speaking line-up that heavily focuses on industry experts by bringing in the context of a real-world end user. Through an interview-style format, we will cover the background of how Valeria came to use both solutions in her organization, where she perceives the advantages of each solution to be as a buyer, and how other organizations can leverage both solutions to make their communication more inclusive, global, and engaging.
Host organization: KUDO, Inc.
