New Report Finds Organizations Rely on a Patchwork of Language Support for Workforce Communication
Austin, Texas – October 16, 2026 – Most respondents in a new Boostlingo survey use two or more approaches to support multilingual workforce communication, combining services, tools, and bilingual employees to cover meetings, trainings, and workplace conversations.
The report, How Organizations Manage Multilingual Workforce Communication in 2026, draws on a survey of 119 professionals who organize, coordinate, support, or influence that work. It finds that 58% use multiple approaches to language support, while accuracy or quality is the most cited challenge, selected by 45% of respondents.
The mix includes on-demand phone or video interpreting, bilingual employees, AI translation or captioning tools, translated materials, and onsite interpreters. Different approaches serve different needs, but managing them can mean coordinating several vendors, tools, and internal processes.
Bilingual employees are a common part of that patchwork. Forty percent of respondents rely on them for language support, and 38% cite that reliance as a challenge. At a vitamins and supplements distributor featured in the report, bilingual employees were pulled away from production work to help colleagues understand benefits and company policies.
“Multilingual communication often grows one need at a time. One team finds a service for town halls, another translates training materials, and a bilingual employee steps in for an HR conversation,” said Andrea Baccenetti, VP of Strategic Initiatives at Boostlingo. “Over time, organizations have several ways to provide language support, but coordinating them becomes its own job. These findings suggest teams want a simpler way to cover those needs while keeping communication quality at the center.”
Improved communication quality is the leading outcome respondents want from a better solution, selected by 42%, ahead of reducing costs at 25%.
When asked what would help justify investing in a better solution, 60% selected an all-in-one solution for different language needs. It was the most selected option, ahead of lower overall costs at 36%. Respondents could select multiple answers.
The report includes findings by organization size, customer examples, and an evaluation checklist to help teams assess language support for 2027 planning. It is available to download for free at https://boostlingo.com/resources/multilingual-workforce-communication-report/.
Methodology: Boostlingo conducted the survey from August 13 to September 14, 2026, with 119 respondents involved in multilingual meetings, events, trainings, and workforce communications. Results are directional and are not intended as a statistically representative benchmark. Percentages are based on respondents who answered each question. Some questions allowed multiple selections.
