[GALA Business Meeting] Proposed Bylaws Changes 2025

This GALA Business Meeting will review the 2025 Proposed Bylaws Changes with members to seek feedback and lay out voting procedures. The proposed changes below are the result of thoughtful review by the governance committee, the GALA Board, and our legal counsel, and were informed by surveys and member focus group input. 

Proposed changes include:

• Introduce Individual Membership to broaden inclusivity, access, and professional diversity.
• Extend board terms from two to three years to strengthen leadership continuity and efficiency.
• Discontinue the Nominating Committee, as board candidate recruitment remains strong without it.
• Remove the goals section from the bylaws to keep them focused on governance and structure; strategy, goals, and KPIs are outlined in other documents.
