AI Use Cases SIG: The Year-End Debrief
AI Use Cases SIG Meeting - November 2026
Quick show of hands: who started 2026 with an AI roadmap that survived contact with reality?
Twelve months of pilots, experiments, proofs of concepts, and emails with subject line "“Can’t we just use AI?” " and more... All this deserves a proper debrief.
The GALA AI Use Cases Special Interest Group is closing the year with an open conversation.
Your homework (it’s short, promise)
Come ready to answer three questions:
- Tell us about one success. A use case that paid off, a workflow that finally started working after months of tinkering, etc...
- Tell us about one thing you’d have done differently. We all have one. (Some of us have a whole drawer.) Hindsight is free, and much cheaper than repeating the lesson next year.
- Tell us what you want from this SIG next year. Which topics should we cover to help you, and which formats work for you? Your answers shape the 2027 agenda, so speak up.
Bring your lessons learned. We’ll bring the coffee, virtually, alas.

Zalan Meggyesi, Easyling

Diplomat by training, solutions engineer by trade, and usually the person brought in when ideas need to become something real. I work at the intersection of language, systems, and automation, with a strong focus on rapid prototyping. Recently, that’s meant hands-on experimentation with AI as a prototyping accelerator: turning rough ideas into specs, specs into prototypes, and prototypes into decisions. In this SIG, I frame the discussion, surface practical questions, and help the group extract useful patterns from real experience, so we leave with clearer signals on how to leverage AI in our favor.
Ziyi (Ian) Zhang, Zoetis

Skilled in designing and applying evaluation metrics tailored for the medical and pharmaceutical domain, with a strong focus on accuracy and terminology. Experienced in building AI-driven solutions, integrating terminology management tools with AI translation. Passionate about driving innovation at the intersection of language technology and global communication.
