Introducing GALA’s WorldReady Conference

A New Chapter for a Trusted Event

For more than 15 years, professionals have called GALA’s annual conference simply “the GALA Conference,” sometimes using the name of the host city, such as “GALA Berlin,” and sometimes just “GALA.” This trusted event brings together hundreds of professionals in the language industry. It serves as a place to learn, inspire each other, and celebrate culture together. 

Those traditions are not going away.

You can still expect the hallmarks of our event: excellent professional development, content that reflects emerging industry trends, networking opportunities, and cultural experiences that showcase the character of our host cities.

A New Name That Reflects Our Future

What is changing is the name.

Beginning with our next event in April 2026, the GALA conference will be known as the WorldReady Conference. This rebranding reflects GALA’s commitment to evolution and to supporting today’s professionals as they navigate a rapidly changing global environment.

Why "WorldReady"?

Today’s localization operations and language services require more than linguistic expertise alone. Professionals must be conversant in artificial intelligence, accessibility, international product development, global UX, and go-to-market strategies (to name a few), all while maintaining cultural sensitivity and strategic awareness. To reflect this multidimensional reality, the WorldReady Conference will introduce new program tracks:

• TechReady – equipping professionals with knowledge at the intersection of technology and language.
• MarketReady – focusing on global business strategies and market expansion.
• RiskReady – addressing compliance, data security, and geopolitical challenges.
• PeopleReady – strengthening leadership, culture, and workforce development.
• LanguageAccessReady – advancing accessibility and inclusion through language.

The new name WorldReady Conference is a renewed promise to our community. It signals our readiness to adapt and lead, as well as our commitment to continuing to provide the experiences and knowledge that prepare our industry for what lies ahead.
