GALA Board Elections 2025: Announcing the New Board Members

Every year, the Board Elections is a testament to the power of GALA's community. We are consistently impressed and honored by the candidates that self-nominate to step into this critical leadership role with the association. This year was no different.

We had nine outstanding candidates running in the Board Elections 2025, representing GALA's diverse membership. Per our Bylaws, the winners were determined by those with the most votes from the membership.

We are pleased to welcome Francesca Sorrentino (Phrase), Ralph Jung (Independent), and Viviana Bernabe (Welocalize, Inc.) to the Board! They will be joining Annelise Finegan (NYU), Daniela D'Amato (Creative Words), Jose Palomares (Coupa),  and Viveta Gene (Ionian University). Departing the board after completing one term of service will be Paulo Guimarães (Inside Language Solutions) and after two terms, Britta Aagaard (Semantix). 

Our industry is facing persistent challenges and the next 12-18 months will be a critical time for adaptation. I'm confident that the mix of professionals that we have on the board, including our newly elected directors, is the right mix of perspectives, talents, backgrounds, and attitudes that will guide GALA successfully through this phase of development. The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction of the association, from risk assessment to scenario planning to financial oversight. They work closely with the GALA team to ensure GALA is a relevant and valuable resource to its members and the broader community.
