Organization Overview

The aim of our department is to be an international player in the field of scientific research within Applied Linguistics and related disciplines. We work on scientific research in translation, interpreting, multilingual communication, language and translation technology and language and translation teaching.

Our department offers a Bachelor in Applied Language Studies and four Master's Degrees:
- Master's Degree in Translation
- Master's Degree in Interpreting
- Master's Degree in Multilingual Communication
- Master's Degree in Language Teaching

The Bachelor in Applied Language Studies is a three-year academic course, including a comprehensive study programme in the Dutch language. Students get the opportunity to either study 2 foreign languages or (unique in Flanders!) take the technology track, where they study one foreign language and gain unique expertise in language technology.

The foreign languages on offer include

- Italian
- Russian
- Spanish
