Scalable Media Workflows: Using Edit Distance Towards Workflow Efficiency
Member Webinar
We know that AI helps with efficiency in our workflows. But how much is that efficiency? And how do you measure efficiency and quality when the content is broken down in subtitles? How do you find the breaking point (threshold) of a language in such a creative translation work?
Stop searching for a universal industry benchmark and start identifying your own stability point. In this session, we will explore how to move beyond static metrics to recognize the specific data cues that signal a healthy, predictable workflow versus those that hide systemic waste. You will leave with a framework to reposition human effort where it adds the most value: moving from error correction to experience enhancement.
Takeaways
- Stability framework: Learn how to identify the specific range where your GenAI and human teams are in sync
- Defining your own thresholds: How to use your own historical data to set realistic quality benchmarks that respect the unique creative constraints of subtitling.
- The value-add pivot: Move your human experts from fixing towards enhancing to maximize ROI.

Ana Tejada started as a translator many years ago and has dedicated her entire career to localization for different fields, such as Life Sciences, Technical or Audiovisual. She has always followed two main working paths: technical solutions and quality excellence. With past experience as a customer and now as part of a language service provider, she is always exploring new ways of measuring quality when there is not much information published with concrete information.
She holds an MA in Audiovisual Translation and as many others helped her in her early years, she is now on her path to give back and enjoying mentoring and helping others to gain knowledge. She is passionate about finding gaps that lead to quality issues but most importantly finding strategic solutions to avoid them from start, which is her objective as quality leader for the Media department at TransPerfect.
