Each year, we conduct our Annual Membership Survey to gain valuable insights into the needs, preferences, and experiences of our members and GALA users. This brief survey is an important tool that allows us to gather feedback directly from our community, ensuring that we continue to provide relevant and meaningful services.
Why We Conduct the Survey
The goals of the survey are to identify what matters most to our members, and to better understand how to reach new audiences. By collecting responses on topics from satisfaction with current offerings to suggestions for new programs, we can identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. The survey results help guide our strategic planning and shape future initiatives.

Key Learnings from Annual Membership Surveys
Since 2019, 100% of survey respondents have found at least some value in being GALA members. We also value hearing what we could do better. Previous year’s surveys have revealed several important insights.
Our conference has always been popular for learning and networking, but members wanted more online resources and flexible participation options, which led to the addition of programs like GALA Academy and our members-only Special Interest Groups. Past survey data underscores the importance of continued investment digital resources, like the Resource Center, and industry promotion, which will be a focus in the coming year.
