Clearly, I’ve gained invaluable connections, fresh insights, and continuous learning opportunities that shaped my growth and perspective in a rapidly evolving industry. Best ROI ever.

In your view, what is the primary function and purpose of GALA? How can the association have a positive impact on its members?

I believe the primary role of GALA lies in two essential pillars: connecting people and fostering lifelong learning.

GALA is, at its core, a network that brings professionals together. In times of disruption and transformation, human connection matters more than ever. Building trust, creating opportunities, and sharing experiences in a collaborative space is something uniquely human, and it remains the foundation for business growth and industry resilience. I have seen first-hand the value of these connections, and I am committed to strengthening them further.

The second pillar is education. Our industry is evolving rapidly, and none of us can ever be “finished” with learning. Staying relevant requires passion for growth, continuous education, and openness to new knowledge and perspectives. GALA has the responsibility, and the opportunity, to empower its members with access to insights, tools, and training that will help them adapt, innovate, and thrive in a world being reshaped by technology.

Having previously served on the GALA board, I bring not only my earlier experience but also greater maturity, perspective, and resilience gained over the years. These “turmoil years” present both risks and opportunities for our industry, and I believe I can bring meaningful value by focusing on what makes GALA indispensable: connecting professionals and fueling education.

If elected, I will work to ensure that GALA remains a hub where people and ideas come together, where learning never stops, and where our community is prepared for the challenges, and the opportunities, ahead.

How have you engaged with GALA as a member?

I have actively participated in events, of course GALA Conferences, and contributed to discussions, organized local events, and previously served on the GALA board, helping to shape initiatives that support our industry.

Why would you make a good GALA board member? What will you bring to the table?

I am a good listener, with perspective shaped by years of witnessing our industry’s evolution, yet I remain eager to “surf the wave” of change. I previously served on the GALA board and have over 30 years in strategic leadership roles. With executive and sales training, I bring both vision and practical experience. My focus is on strengthening connections, fostering lifelong learning, and delivering real value to GALA and the industry at large.

Which segment(s) of GALA's membership do you represent? What perspective will you bring?

What is one thing that every language industry professional needs to hear right now?

Change is not optional, our industry is being reshaped by technology, and the only way forward is to stay curious, keep learning, and adapt together.
