Women in Localization Announce New Poland Chapter
Poland Chapter Launch Announcement
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, USA January 23, 2018 / Women in Localization (W.L.), the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry, is delighted to announce the launch of a new Chapter in Poland, the first Chapter in Eastern Europe. This will also be W.L.’s thirteenth (13th) Chapter and expanding their global reach into eleven (11) unique countries.
Leading the new Poland Chapter is Anna Pietruszka who currently manages business strategy growth and M&A at Summa Linguae. As the Chapter Manager, Anna, based in Krakow, is working to solidify the new Chapter leadership team and event schedule for 2018 effective immediately.
Maria Kania, Women in Localization Geo Manager for the EMEA Chapters, will partner with Anna to ensure that this launch is as successful as the other Women in Localization chapters in Europe. "As the Global Expansion Manager for EMEA I am pleased that our first chapter in 2018 is opening in Poland, our first in Eastern Europe. We have had a lot of interest in that part of Europe with strong leaders coming forward volunteering their time and knowledge. The Polish chapter is close to my heart as I am Polish myself. The two main leaders, Anna Pietruszka and Joanna Tarasewicz (Chapter Manager and Assistant Chapter Manager respectively), are respected in the localization industry in Poland. I am sure they will inspire many others to join this chapter and learn from each other" explains Maria Kania.
"This is such an exciting time for Women in Localization as we continue to expand into new territories and can represent our mission now across 13 chapters. We have an incredible roadmap ahead and Poland is our first for 2018. Congratulations to this team, we are here to support them." states Kristin Hansen Gutierrez, Executive Director for Global Expansion for Women in Localization.
