Translation Automation User Society Taps LocalizationGuy LLC for Membership Development
DALLAS (June 11, 2013) - Translation Automation User Society (TAUS) and LocalizationGuy LLC announce an agreement for LocalizationGuy to promote TAUS and help grow the organization's membership. As part of the agreement, Aki Ito, LocalizationGuy president, will lead TAUS strategic orientation sessions with new and prospective members and serve as a panelist for TAUS translation technology showcase webinars.
TAUS is focused on making translation a more ubiquitous service globally through effective implementation of machine translation technology. TAUS supports the translation industry by providing a platform for sharing ideas, research, data and tools for translation automation.
"We are excited to have a translation and localization veteran like Aki Ito available to help the industry make the most of TAUS," said Jaap van der Meer, director of TAUS. "We find that new and prospective TAUS members often need a strategic roadmap to begin to frame their approach to technology. Aki has a track record in this area."
The TAUS strategic orientation sessions consist of a one or one-and-a-half day on-site discussion followed up with a written report and a web meeting for further discussion. The sessions familiarize users with TAUS reports, research, application programming interfaces, TAUS Dynamic Quality Evaluation Framework and TAUS Data that can be used to train machine translation engines.
The TAUS translation technology showcase webinars are held monthly with a one-hour format that allows two technology vendors to demonstrate their products followed up with questions from panelists and the online audience.
"With so many translation technologies hitting the market, TAUS membership is invaluable for those who are embracing the inevitability of machine translation," said Ito. "TAUS is a great think tank to help buyers and providers of language services understand the landscape and benefit from collective experience."
