Company Celebrates 12 Consecutive Years of ISO 9001 Certification

Boulder, CO (May 15, 2009) - ENLASO (translate.com), a leading provider of enterprise language solutions, announced today that it has completed the update to its Quality Management Systems, aligning with the changes introduced in the new ISO 9001:2008 standard.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a network of the national standards institutes of 161 countries, with one member per country. These standards provide the framework to ensure desirable quality characteristics at an affordable price. ISO 9001 is a generic quality management system standard that can be applied effectively to any organization, regardless the product or service offered by that organization. ENLASO’s long commitment to ISO 9001 has produced a quality system that ensures ENLASO meets or exceeds the requirements of its customers in every market.

ENLASO established its quality management system (QMS) twelve years ago, creating an effective framework to ensure all quality objectives are met while providing for the continuous process improvement necessary to drive “faster, better, and cheaper” translation and localization services for its customers. Many of the company’s customers represent highly regulated industries—including medical, pharmaceutical, energy, and transportation industries. These industries benefit from ENLASO’s ISO 9001 registered quality management system that is designed to ensure ENLASO meets customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.

The new ISO 9001:2008 edition was published on November 14th of 2008. Revisions from the 2000 edition focus on clarifications to the existing requirements along with minor additions to the scope of requirements to be met by the quality management system. Organizations that are registered for ISO 9001:2000 are expected to update their quality systems in 2009 to adhere to these modifications.

“ENLASO’s ongoing commitment to its ISO 9001 quality management system is reflected in the company-wide effort made in the first months of 2009 to review and revise the processes and procedures to ensure we meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements,” said Yusuke Kirimoto, ENLASO’s Operations Manager.

“With our quality management system employing the principles of total quality management, every ENLASO employee is assigned to a cross-functional quality team, giving that employee an active role in the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures to best meet our project requirements,” adds John Watkins, ENLASO's President. He further states, “These cross-functional teams meet regularly and are responsible for ensuring our quality system evolves along with the needs of our customers. Each employee is empowered by this participation to understand how our quality system and the corresponding commitment to ISO 9001 registration improves the customer experience at ENLASO.”
