Educational Event Brought Together a Diverse Group of People to Share Techniques and Best Practices in Localization, Translation, and Globalization

Boulder, CO (January 12, 2009) – ENLASO Corporation, a leading provider of translation and localization solutions, recently held its third annual Localization Thought Leader Forum in Boulder, CO, December 10-12.

For the third consecutive year, ENLASO hosted its innovative and educational two-day “Localization Thought Leader Forum” in Boulder, Colorado. The event was held at the historic Hotel Boulderado and managed to live up to its theme: “The Power of Knowledge — Localization and Beyond.”

The format of the Forum is unique in that customer-side representatives join ENLASO staff to share their knowledge and experiences as practiced in their daily work routines. Presentations focused on a variety of topics that included preparing a winning localization kit for effective handoff, integrating Content Management Systems (CMS) with localization, translation memory management, multilingual glossaries and glossary management, localization style guides, Controlled English, XML impacts on localization, and internationalization best practices.

A panel of thought leaders from a variety of industries also discussed the current “Hot Topics in Localization.”

Yves Lang, ENLASO’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, notes, “The goal of the Forum was to create an environment where participants are able to freely share their opinions, contribute to problem-solving solutions, and have an opportunity to learn from each other.” He continues, “Attendees were able to network in a relaxed, non-sales-related atmosphere. I am confident that the participants left Colorado with new ideas on how to optimize their Return-On-Investment for their specific localization and translation environments.”

Bruce McDanel, Technical Writing Manager at Pelco, adds, “The Forum provided an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in localization. I have a stronger business case now for implanting technology and process changes in my organization.”

“The event focused on the real world issues and solutions, and we deliberately limited attendance so that every attendee could get the most out of the Forum,” commented John Watkins, ENLASO’s President and COO. He continues, “Our forum participant survey shows us that fully 100% of the participants found the Forum met or exceeded their expectations while 87% took away new knowledge to help them with their localization needs.”

The next Localization Thought Leader Forum will be held in late 2009 or in early 2010.
