SDL opens new office in Brazil to drive South American business
Expands SDL global network of integrated offices to deliver consistent localization service to customers
Maidenhead, UK -- SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, announced today that it has opened a new office in São Paulo, Brazil.
The new office will supplement the extensive global network of 50 integrated offices within SDL and will have responsibility for dealing with localization requirements of corporations in the region - both delivering content into the region, and helping companies take content out of the region into other languages.
With the addition of Brazil, SDL is continuing to expand its network of integrated local offices. "Brazilian Portuguese is the 13th most popular language that SDL support, and demand for the language has been steadily rising to a level where we are now translating more than 1 million words per month for companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, HP, Kodak and Getty Images", commented Cristina Lancaster, Chief Operations Officer at SDL. "To deliver language efficiently it is imperative to use resources within the relevant country in order to understand local nuances and deliver culturalization as opposed to simple translation."
The Brazilian office will be managed by a Iara Pasqualucci - a 16 year veteran of the localization industry. "We are delighted with the appointment of Iara Pasqualucci as our new general manager for Brazil" continued Lancaster. "She brings over 16 years of localization experience to SDL at a time when globalization is seen as a major factor to corporations doing business across the world."
"I am very pleased to be joining SDL at such an exciting time for the industry", commented Iara Pasqualucci, general manager for SDL Brazil. "Language is a critical enabler of modern business and the opening of an office in South America is testament to the SDL vision to become the standard provider of localization services and technology."
