SDL Connects Enterprise-wide Global Authoring with Industry-leading Translation Assets
Enterprise solution helps improve brand consistency and shorten time-to-market
Maidenhead, UK SDL International, the leading provider of global information management (GIM) solutions, today announced the release of SDL AuthorAssistant 2006, which accelerates time-to-market and improves brand consistency across enterprise-wide global authoring processes.
With inconsistencies occurring across both source and translated content in global organizations, the image of the brand and related revenue impact can be substantial. Companies are increasingly looking at ways to improve the consistency and to reduce the costs of providing that content to international audiences.
SDL AuthorAssistant enhances the quality and efficiency of the global authoring process. It enables creators of corporate content to perform automated checks against existing translation assets, such as previously translated content and terminology glossaries, as well as against corporate writing guidelines.
These capabilities have been significantly enhanced with SDL AuthorAssistant 2006. The new release extends its reach to the entire global ecosystem by enabling organizations to access centralized translation assets in SDL Trados, SDL MultiTerm, SDLX and SDL TermBase formats. It saves time in the content lifecycle with additional customizable style checks and provides management insight into global authoring savings with a range of new reporting capabilities.
"We are excited about the new release of SDL AuthorAssistant 2006 as it will enable us to leverage our centralized translation assets to improve the quality of multilingual technical documentation," commented Andy Tweddle, President and CEO of Tweddle Litho Company. "Additionally, the quality improvements we will be able to achieve in the development of our source language documents will multiply the cost savings and quality improvements for the target languages we produce."
"With SDL AuthorAssistant 2006, organizations can manage their global authoring processes right at the start of the content lifecycle," commented Sophie Hurst, Senior Product Marketing Manager at SDL International. "This release responds to demand for an enterprise solution that ensures all those involved in global communications have the assistance they need to deliver high-quality, global-ready content that positively impacts the brand."
