Globalization and Localization professionals are invited to participate in an industry-wide conversation to drive innovation and advances in the cloud

Maidenhead, UK – June 15, 2011
SDL (LSE:SDL), the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions, today announced the launch of Elevation Center the localization industry’s first online, virtual briefing center for cloud computing. Elevation Center will enable individuals in the localization industry to collaborate, learn, interact and discuss ways to accelerate the adoption of cloud solutions for localization and globalization.

Over the last 2 years, there has been an increasing demand for cloud solutions. Preference for SDL’s Software as a Service (SaaS) - based solutions continues to grow rapidly quarter upon quarter. To support this trend and new cloud opportunities for the localization industry, SDL is launching Elevation Center to support a multi-dimensional, collaborative discussion to bring the industry together on the potential of cloud computing.

Elevation Center will include a series of presentations, educational seminars, live chat sessions, forums, product demonstrations and podcasts - all delivered through innovative cloud platforms. Localization professionals can meet peers, network with others in the center, learn about cloud computing, participate in conversations on topics of interest to the industry and explore ways to work together.

“The language industry has an opportunity,” said Mark Tapling, CEO of the SDL Language Technologies division. “Today, the language industry is behind its peers in other industries when it comes to cloud computing, sharing, collaborating and innovating. While other verticals have been focused on scaling and driving significant application and technology advancement, we have been focused on optimizing processes and components. As an industry, we have an unprecedented opportunity in front of us to influence and accelerate the way the world communicates. Our goal is to engage the industry in a conversation that enables all of us to embrace the cloud and drive advancement for the greater community.”

New content and discussions will be added to Elevation Center regularly. Join today to be part of this industry-wide conversation.
