ND LISBON: Proven Networking and Training Program Comes to Portugal in October
Seattle, USA and Rimini, Italy (30 July 2008) – The European Language Industry Association (ELIA) and the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) will bring the associations’ joint Networking Days to Lisbon, 2 - 4 October. Networking Days Lisbon is designed for decision makers from European language service companies.
“The real benefit of ELIA’s and GALA’s Networking Days is relationship building,” said Kim Harris, GALA board chair. “The relaxed, intimate settings of the ND events have allowed me to build business connections that last and have developed into partnerships benefitting both parties.”
Participants in Networking Days Lisbon will learn from experts and peers about how to improve their company operations. Registrants can choose from a variety of workshops and relationship building activities:
Structured Project Management Workshop for Localization Companies (2 days)
This workshop will show you how to consistently manage deadlines and changes so that your project management team can deliver successful localization projects. The workshop will be presented by Tom Connolly from ETP, a leading supplier of project management training and consulting.
Marketing On a Shoestring (1 day)
As marketing budgets tighten, a creative approach becomes ever more important. This workshop will be presented by Petra Owen of Guerrilla Marketing Group.
Tools of the Trade (1 day)
Do you feel overwhelmed by all the choices available to your company? An independent expert who knows the tools we all use will provide attendees with an unbiased overview of what is available to help your company function more efficiently.
Multilingual business: How to select your language partners (1/2 day - morning, paired with Speed Networking)
How do you go about finding and selecting the best partner? This half-day workshop will help shed some light on the imperfect art by covering partner evaluation, growing a working relationship and more.
Speed Networking (1-2 hours - afternoon, paired with How to select your language partners)
This is fun networking: Every three minutes during the activity, a bell sounds, and participants from one side of the networking table rotate to the next seat, where the process begins all over again. Bring lots of business cards!
The registration form for ND Lisbon is posted here. The early bird registration deadline is 12 September.
