Friday, 1 December, 2006

Brno, Czech Republic -- December 4, 2006 -- Moravia Worldwide, a leading globalization solution provider, announced today its ongoing implementation of the ISO 27001 information security management principles. The implementation ensures Moravia's compliance with this latest information security standard in all areas of the company's worldwide operations. It is spearheaded by Moravia's Information Security (InfoSec) department, which includes Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP), recognized by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC).

The InfoSec department overseeing the adoption of the standards across Moravia Worldwide is responsible for the development of global security strategies for the company, including the company's Information Security Management System, which complies with ISO 27001 security standards. This system establishes best practices for information security management and proven methods to protect customers' intellectual property.

The ISO 27001 standard, which was published in October 2005 and is the first in a series of new standards to support information security, has replaced the earlier British Standard BS7799-2. It is aligned with other management standards such as ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management). Altogether, they share system elements and principles, which makes it possible to integrate these systems. The ISO 27001 standard legislates for creating security measures that are the result of a risk analysis, and offers a set of security controls. The standard provides for a process which ensures the continuous verification and improvement of all elements of the security system through audits and reviews.

"Our customers entrust Moravia with their highly confidential intellectual property," said Katerina Forstingerova, CEO of Moravia Worldwide. "Moravia's responsibility is to earn that trust every day by continuing to safeguard their intellectual property. The fact that we have recognized and CISSP-accredited professionals in our InfoSec team provides for a high level of information security overall to all our customers."

"Our adoption of the ISO 27001 information security principles shows our commitment to security and demonstrates that we are constantly reinforcing the protection of our customers' intellectual property as threats increase," said Arturo Quintero, Chief Corporate Strategist of Moravia Worldwide. "The implementation of security principles is not so much about certification as it is about our people and the culture we foster in our organization. For us, it's all about protecting our customers' valuable and sensitive intellectual property, and ensuring Moravia maintains its position as the industry leader in information security."
