Moravia Sponsors Seattle Localization Event
Globalization and Localization Association Partners with UW for May 15 Meet-Up
Seattle, USA — Moravia, one of the world’s leading language service providers, is co-sponsoring a networking event for the Seattle localization community. Together with the University of Washington’s Localization Certification Program, the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) will hold a networking meet-up from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the UW Tower, 4333 Brooklyn Ave NE.
With food, drinks, a cash bar and a short educational program featuring Microsoft International Program Managers Manuela Noske, Stephanie Smith and Ilya Butenko, the program is designed to support Seattle’s growing localization community. Participants do not need to be member of GALA to attend.
Pavel Soukenik, Senior Director of Strategic Accounts for Moravia and a member of UW’s Localization Cetification Program Advisory Board, said Seattle is becoming a recognized hub for localization expertise.
“Between our strong growth in the Seattle area and our ongoing mission to advance localization industry standards, it’s important for Moravia to foster a strong community of language industry specialists in connection with forward-thinking organizations like GALA and the University of Washington,”,” Soukenik said.
Laura Brandon, GALA’s Chief Operating Officer, said “UW’s Localization Certification Program not only serves as a model of excellence for other continuing education programs, it brings real value to Seattle-based companies that rely on top-quality localization services. We’re fortunate to have it right here in our own back yard.”
