Methodist Healthcare Awards Language Services Associates Exclusive Three-Year Contract for Interpretation and Translation Services

LSA is selected exclusive language services provider after successful pilot program
Horsham, Pa. (November 30, 2009) – Language Services Associates (LSA), a leading provider of premium language-based solutions, announced today it has been awarded an exclusive contract by Methodist Healthcare to provide Interpreting by Telephone (IBT), Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), Face-to-Face Interpreting and Document Translation and Localization services. This announcement comes on the heels of a successful pilot of LSA’s IBT, VRI and Face-to-Face interpretation services at three Methodist hospital locations, including Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital.
Methodist Healthcare awarded LSA this exclusive contract because of its full suite of language solutions, enhanced responsiveness, level of quality and overall cost-effectiveness. “LSA has been an incredible addition to the patient care we provide,” said Pam Dwyer, RN, Nursing Director, Emergency Department, Methodist Children’s Hospital. “The service allows us to obtain the information we need to provide care to the patient and family. Prior to the availability of LSA’s services, there could be delays of one to two hours to get the detailed information we needed. My staff loves the dual headset phones and it’s a great tool to expedite the care of patients.”

The contract, formerly managed by Language Line Services, will last a minimum of three years with an official start date of November 30, 2009. Members of LSA’s sales and clients services departments are scheduled to travel to San Antonio, Texas the week of November 30 to complete the implementation process, which includes the installation of dual headset phones and clinical in-servicing.
