Lionbridge wins the prestigious Microsoft "Vendor of the Year" Excellence Award
Microsoft Selects Lionbridge among 17,200 Service Providers across Industries; Recognizes Lionbridge for its Exceptional Service
WALTHAM, Mass. (October 03, 2008) – Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced it has been selected by Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) as its “Vendor of the Year” as part of the 2008 Microsoft Vendor Program (MSVP) Excellence Awards. Chosen from among more than 17,200 Microsoft vendors in the U.S., eight companies were selected across seven categories. Lionbridge was selected as the sole winner of the 2008 “Vendor of the Year” award. Winners in other categories include Marriott International Inc., Grubb & Ellis Co., Compass Group PLC, CRG Events, Toshiba America Inc., MV Transportation Inc., and Revonet Inc. The vendors received their awards during the seventh MSVP Annual Vendor Summit on Microsoft's corporate campus in Redmond last night.
In a Microsoft press release issued yesterday, the Company commented “The MSVP Excellence Awards recognize those Microsoft vendors that stand head and shoulders above the rest for the quality and consistency of their service," said Tim McBride, general manager and chief procurement officer at Microsoft. Selected by a panel of Microsoft executives, recipients of the MSVP Excellence Awards are recognized for the exceptional service they provide to the company. To be considered for this award, vendors must first be nominated by a Microsoft employee based on the characteristics of value, quality, flexibility, innovation, security and privacy.
