Kim Harris Joins EAMT Executive Committee
Kim Harris Elected to Serve as Member of the Executive Committee of the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT)
Kim Harris, Managing Partner at text&form, was unanimously elected to serve as a member of the Executive Committee at this year’s annual conference of the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT) in Prague. The EAMT Executive Committee is responsible for planning and implementing events such as the MT Summit as well as association conferences and workshops on topics related to machine translation. As an elected member of the Executive Committee, Kim Harris brings both comprehensive industry knowledge and research experience in language technology and machine translation. She has been Managing Partner at text&form for more than 20 years and has been a guest scientist at the German Research Center for Artifical Intelligence (DFKI) for the past two years.
“I am honoured and very pleased to have been elected by members of the association. Machine translation is topic that I feel very strongly about and I fully support the goals of the EAMT with utmost conviction,” says Kim Harris.
Kim Harris also brings a wide range of experience from her previous service on the board of directors of other organizations such as the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), The Rosetta Foundation and the LIND Expert Group initiated by the EU DGT.
EAMT stands for the European Association for Machine Translation and is an organization that serves the growing community of people who are interested in machine translation.
