Kilgray Translation Technologies releases memoQ 6.2

memoQ Translation Technologies

Friday, 30 November, 2012

Kilgray Translation Technologies, developers of the translation environments memoQ, memoQ server, memoQWebTrans and qTerm, have announced the availability of memoQ 6.2, and further improvements to memoQWebTrans and qTerm.

Adding significant functionality to v.6.0, memoQ 6.2 offers a wealth of productivity boosters for freelance translators, language service providers and enterprise customers alike.

Turning the Muse’s kiss into a feature, translators now receive expressions extracted from Translation Memories and LiveDocs Corpora as they translate. Along with Star Transit project packages, SDL Studio (SDLPPX) packages can now be imported into memoQ with a single click. Using a cloud-based file filter, memoQ users can now translate Adobe InDesign files (.INDD, .INX, .IDML) with translation preview turned on. By introducing new QA checks, one can see easily if tags are ordered properly and translated strings are not longer than allowed. Terminology warnings now offer possible target terms.

FirstAccept, GroupSourcing, Subvendor Workflow and Slicing now have a document history, a description and logging of all actions that happen in v.6.2. Statistics and pre-translation can now be run in multilingual projects for all languages at once. Statistics don’t need to be calculated separately: project managers can attach those to the project’s notification message. Project managers can disable Machine Translation, so the translator may not leak the document through cloud services.

Further improvements include enhanced predictive typing, a completely rewritten SDLXLIFF filter, opening documents automatically after export, using multiple MT engines at the same time, offering 101% hits from LiveDocs corpora and more.
