KantanMT Launches KantanISR Technology – Instant Segment Retrainer

KantanMT

Tuesday, 1 October, 2013

KantanMT is pleased to announce the release of its new instant segment retraining technology, KantanISR™ (Kantan Instant Segment Retrainer). KantanISR™ is a new technology that KantanMT has been quietly working on at its development centre in Dublin, Ireland. The technology is designed to enable the near-instantaneous submission of post-edited translations into a KantanMT engine so that members of KantanMT can submit segments for retraining without having to rebuild their engine.

KantanISR™ was developed with usability in mind - members simply need to login to their KantanMT account, go to their main dashboard and submit new training segments using the KantanISR editor. These new segments are then stored in the KantanISR cache which is used as supplementary training data the next time the engine is run. This bypasses the need to completely rebuild the engine.

KantanMT will be releasing API Version 2.0 in the coming week which will include full support for the KantanISR feature. Using the API Version 2.0 members of KantanMT will be able to add ISR segments to a running engine in real-time.

For more information on the KantanISR please email Niamh.

What is KantanMT™?

KantanMT is a cloud-based implementation of Moses statistical Machine Translation technology. Leveraging the power and flexibility of the cloud, KantanMT effortlessly scales to generate a high-quality, low-cost Machine Translation platform for small-to-medium sized Localisation Service Providers.

What is Xcelerator?

Xcelerator Machine Translations Solution is a new start-up that is focusing on making Machine Translation easy to use, inexpensive to access and available to mid-sized LSPs that are eager to integrate MT into their client’s localisation workflows. Xcelerator is focusing on the growing number of small-to-medium sized language service providers (LSPs) that want to – or must – offer machine translation to their clients.

Recent research on pricing shows that while a very small percentage of translation agencies use MT on every job, nearly a quarter of small LSPs, and more than half of medium-sized LSPs, will apply it if requested to do so by their clients. However, most providers don’t have the technical expertise to install an MT solution, train engines for their clients, and integrate it with their workflow. Xcelerator aims to fill that gap.
