KantanMT Analytics Creates New Opportunities for Machine Translation Business Models

Friday, 19 July, 2013

Dublin, Ireland: Xcelerator Machine Translation Ltd., is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of KantanMT Analytics. The innovative technology, developed in partnership with the Centre for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL) at Dublin City University, Ireland, will provide segment level quality analysis for machine translated output.

KantanMT Analytics measures the quality of the translations generated by KantanMT Machine Translation engines.  The new feature will give a quality score for each segment translated through a KantanMT engine, meaning that LSPs will be able to better predict project turnaround times and offer more accurate pricing to their clients.

"Working with CNGL, our team have developed a truly unique capability", says Tony O’Dowd, Founder and Chief Architect of KantanMT.com, "developing segment scoring will empower LSPs to build a solid commercial model around machine Translation, akin to what Translation Memory fuzzy-match scores achieved in the early 80s".

KantanMT Analytics is being rolled out to a sample of KantanMT members in July 2013. It will be made available to all members of the KantanMT platform in August 2013.

Research for this project has been funded by Science Foundation of Ireland (SFI) in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland.
