Globalization Partners to host FrameMaker 9 webinar with GALA and ADOBE Systems.

Globalization Partners International (GPI)

Tuesday, 28 September, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC – September 28, 2010: Globalization Partners International (GPI), a leading provider of document, software and website translation services will host a FREE webinar with ADOBE Systems Incorporated and the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM US/Pacific on reducing translation costs with FrameMaker 9 and DITA. This webinar is part of the Adobe eSeminar series.

Document globalization professionals from Globalization Partners and ADOBE will discuss how to dramatically reduce multilingual publishing and translation costs by upgrading to FrameMaker 9 with DITA.

Webinar attendees will learn:

  • How new custom FrameMaker 9 workflow saves files in native XML format, erases “illegal” format overrides on save and ensures all external cross-references open error-free after translation
  • How one template can be used to control all formatting, including font changes and language specific prefixes like “Table” and “Figure”, for 27 target languages
  • Learn how to convert an unstructured Quark manual (neither index markers nor cross references) to FrameMaker and how to convert to DITA structure with working indexterms and crossrefs
  • Learn how to ensure that structured DITA files from FrameMaker 9 achieve maximum leveraging from old “unstructured” Translation Memory created from older projects
