Gary Muddyman of Conversis Speaking at International Business Conference, Localization World 2009
Presentation to cover web globalisation strategies for China, India and Brazil
Silicon Valley (16 October 2009) – Gary Muddyman, CEO and managing director of Conversis, a translation and localisation company, is speaking on the role of localisation vendors in building a global user community and will sit on an expert panel discussion on strategies to tap into the emerging markets of China, India and Brazil at this fall’s Localization World 2009 international business conference, to be held October 20-22 in Santa Clara, CA.
Muddyman spent 16 years at HSBC and was responsible for creating the Metropolitan Collection Services – which has become a model for debt collection services the world over - before launching Conversis in 2003 with the view to promoting localisation as a strategic business tool. Full programme details and additional speakers’ biographies are available at http://www.localizationworld.com.
The conference agenda offers four concurrent programme tracks: Global Business Best Practices, Managing Global Websites, Core Localization Competencies and Advanced Localization Management. Muddyman’s contributions at the conference belong to the Global Business Best Practices and Managing Global Websites programme tracks. Programmes and exhibits are directed to both customers and vendors.
Keynote speakers include Dave Luhr, COO of international ad agency Wieden & Kennedy, and Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, who will be speaking via live broadcast from New York. Additional speakers include senior executives from large and mid-sized international enterprises, academic institutions and research companies.
Due to the high caliber of speakers and content, as well as a sold out exhibit hall, it is expected that this will be a well-attended Localization World event, providing an excellent opportunity to learn from leading experts in software, social media, advertising, finance and publishing, as well as specialists in localisation, international web development, and sales. In addition to seminars and exhibitions, there will be two evening networking events providing opportunities to meet people and establish partnerships.
“I am presenting at Localization World 2009 because I recognise how critical this information is for companies expanding in the global marketplace,” says Gary Muddyman. “My presentation with Michael Smith of iStock and the panel discussion with Dr Nitish Singh of St Louis University Business School will give attendees great insights as well as hard facts and practical advice on making foreign websites as successful abroad as they are at home.”
Localisation, the art and science of adapting products, services, and communications to an international language or culture to appear native to any particular region, is a vital function for global success. Localization World 2009 delivers comprehensive education and networking opportunities for both beginners and experienced professionals involved in multinational growth.
