GALA Announces Location of GALA 2013
Miami to host the next Language of Business Conference
The Globalization and Localization Association, the largest global association for the language and localization industry, has announced that the next annual Language of Business conference will take place in Miami USA in March 2013. The announcement of the conference location was made on the second day of GALA 2012 in Monaco, the association’s best attended annual conference to date.
In making the announcement, GALA Board Chair, Hans Fenstermacher, said: “Each year, GALA gives a lot of thought to the best location for our conference. We recognize the time and financial investment attendees make, and we want to offer them a full experience at a destination that encourages business and relaxation.”
He added that Miami is an international business hub and geographically easy to reach for a majority of the GALA membership. “It is truly a refreshingly different location for GALA 2013.”
GALA 2013 will be the fifth annual Language of Business conference and the first to be held in the United States. The first conference was held in Cancun Mexico, and the subsequent three were based at European destinations. Hosting the annual conference in North America recognizes the significant membership based in North and South America.
In 2014, the conference will return to a European destination and in the subsequent years it will rotate between North America and Europe.
Additionally, in 2013, GALA will hold a regionally focused event in Europe. Not a replacement for the Language of Business conference, the European GALA regional event will focus on local and regional issues the annual event will continue to maintain its international touch and focus on global issues. The location of the 2013 European GALA regional event will be announced later this year.
The association plans to host one more GALA regional event each year, recognizing the need to bring networking and content to other geographic areas where member companies are located. The first GALA regional event is currently being organized for Argentina in September, 2012. The association will be releasing more details about this event in the coming weeks.
