ENLASO (translate.com) to Host Webinar on How to Get Started in Localization Program Management

Thursday, 12 February, 2009

BOULDER, CO (February 12, 2009) - ENLASO Corporation, a provider of translation and localization solutions, announced today that it will host a live Webinar February 26th, 2009, titled, "How to Get Started in Localization Program Management." The online event is presented by Erin Vang, principal of Global Pragmatica, an ENLASO partner.

The presentation highlights how localization and globalization are among the most important strategic initiatives an organization undertakes, yet responsibility for localization often falls to whoever "isn't busy.”

Vang notes, “I’ve noticed that a common denominator among localization professionals seems to be that nobody starts out meaning to work in localization, but everyone somehow ends up in localization, loves it, and feels somewhat sheepish about how it all happened.”

The presentation targets professionals that are confronted with similar situations and evaluates many of the major milestones involved in the journey from beginner to seasoned localization professional.

Vang discusses concrete ideas on how to tackle this journey and addresses the following topics:

  • Growth strategies available to someone just getting started in localization,
  • Support resources,
  • Options for both short-term survival and long-term program management,
  • Big-picture staff development and career planning.
