ENLASO (translate.com) holds first annual Localization Thought Leader Forum

Wednesday, 20 December, 2006

Boulder, Colorado, USA -- ENLASO Corporation, a leading provider of translation and localization solutions, held its first annual Localization Thought Leader Forum in Boulder, CO, December 6-8. The Forum brought together a remarkable group of people to share techniques and best practices in localization and globalization. Presentations ranged from "Challenges of Games Localization" to "Managing Translation of Health Information" and "Overcoming Management Objections." While ENLASO organized and subsidized the costs of this exclusive event, the forum was actually led by the participants so that they could each have opportunities to share their lessons learned in the industry.

"We deliberately limited attendance for our first event," commented Yves Lang, ENLASO's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, "and we can see that it paid off. Everyone was very involved and comfortable while all of the discussions were highly focused and interactive." Customer attendee feedback supports that assessment. "The real world issues and solutions, and the ability to ask questions to the speakers in an intimate environment made this conference unique and worthwhile," observes Lisa Wolfe of McDonald's.

Attendees came from companies including PELCO, Welch Allyn, Stellent, Match.com and Gambro BCT. Industries represented at the Forum ranged from Social Networking, Online Dating, Life Sciences, Security and Food Services. Many participants were surprised by the common globalization, localization and translation challenges facing disparate industries. "This Forum helped me realize that many of the challenges I encounter are also present across the industry," comments Sydney Youngerman-Cole of Healthwise. "It was great to hear about the tools and practices that other people use to be successful." Numerous creative solutions to common challenges were shared by presenters and participants.

"The Forum accomplished exactly what we had hoped for," states John Watkins, President and COO of ENLASO. "Best practices that ENLASO has established were reinforced by the many innovative solutions our clients have put in place, especially in the area of content creation." Attendees, as well as presenters, contributed very concrete suggestions and benefited from expertise derived from different industries.

The 2007 Thought Leader Forum will be held again in Boulder in early autumn.
