Conversis Launches Public Sector Division

CONVERSIS

Tuesday, 8 August, 2006

OXFORD, England

Conversis, one of the world's leading providers of globalization, internationalization, localization and translation services, has launched a Public Sector Division. This division was designed for all language and communication needs in the Public Sector including central and local government departments, local councils, health services, charities, the police and other public organizations.

To support these efforts, Conversis' division offers public sector organizations preferential rates and a full management information package. The complete range of services will include: language translation services, face-to-face interpreting, telephone interpreting, multilingual desktop publishing (DTP), braille, British Sign Language (BSL), language consultancy, and cultural consultancy. In addition, Conversis has created a dedicated helpline in order to support clients with the task of localizing and interpreting what are often sensitive government materials.

"Conversis sees this division as a critical resource for those government agencies which are seeking multilingual services in a timely and accurate manner," said Gary Muddyman, CEO and managing director. "With the help of industry experts in the government, legal and regulatory fields, Conversis has the capability to handle a large volume of projects while keeping the costs down for our clients."

At this time, Conversis has approval to begin projects for several public sector entities including the European Metalworker's Federation (EMF); The Office of Pensions Ombudsman and the Translation Center for the Bodies of the European Union. Conversis is translating a variety of documents for these organizations, such as handbooks, legal texts and technical manuals.

"As a result of refugees and economic migrants continuing to relocate, public authorities are now requiring that multilingual resources be provided to ensure communities are fully educated on the public services being provided in their communities," said Muddyman. "In response to that demand, Conversis has created this division to provide a wide range of high-quality public sector translation services to meet the language requirements of a variety of public and not-for-profit sector organizations."
