Conversis creates a world of Global Gurus
13th September: Oxfordshire - In June of this year, UK-based language services agency Conversis released a social game that challenges players to test their international business knowledge.
Over 30,000 players have taken up the challenge to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time, by travelling the world making business deals by answering a series of questions about the country they’re visiting.
At the end of each country, players are ranked according to the value of the deals they made. Rankings included Global Guru, a Worldly Whizz, Journey Junior, Adventure Amateur or Culture Flunk. The game had plenty of Global Guru’s with the top scores reaching over £300 billion!
As an added bonus, those who played the game were entered into a draw to win one of five iPad 2’s up for grabs. Three winners have already received their iPad’s and two more winners have yet to be selected.
So far the game has been very successful and continues to draw large numbers of players daily.
“We wanted to reinforce the message that Conversis helps companies succeed abroad, and we thought, what better way to do that than to challenge people to think about how much they know about business culture in other countries?” says Gary Muddyman, Conversis CEO.

“But considering the success we’ve had with our social media strategy over the past few years, we decided to take it to the next level and create a social game. It’s fun, but it’s informative and we really hope it gets the message across about what Conversis does.”
