CONVERSIS Appoints Russell Goldsmith
The specialist translation and localisation agency, Conversis, today announced the appointment of Russell Goldsmith to Director of Conversis Corporate, as the company continues to strengthen its senior management team and attract clients in the marketing and communication space.
With this appointment, Russell brings more than 20 years of experience in PR and marketing to an industry that has traditionally been slow to prioritise digital marketing skills in senior leadership roles. As Director, Russell will spearhead business development into new markets and oversee Conversis’ own corporate marketing and PR activities.
Gary Muddyman, Founder and CEO of Conversis, said: “As we evaluated our businesses goals it became very clear that we needed to bring someone with Russell’s wealth of expertise onboard if we were to take Conversis to the next level. Russell demonstrates a rare combination of leadership and digital marketing skills, which will enable us to serve the marketing and social media communities and improve our overall proposition. With this broader base of leadership we’ll be able to directly align with customers by mirroring the skills that they possess in their own markets.”
Last year, Conversis successfully launched a specialist Medical division with a tremendously positive response from the market. Russell aims to grow the Corporate business with the same success, building on a pre-existing loyal client base that includes organisations such as Canon and Shell.
Russell Goldsmith explained: “Joining Conversis was an easy decision, as I am moving to a thriving business, led by an inspiring CEO and a senior team of experts in their field. Having spent my career in the marketing and PR industry, it is exciting to see how disciplines such as digital and social media have become crucial for the translation and localisation industry, given the global nature of communications and our ability to access information instantly from anywhere in the world.”
Prior to joining Conversis, Russell has been working as an independent marketing consultant for the past 12 months having spent the previous 16 years on the Board of broadcast specialists markettiers4dc where he was the Group’s Digital & Social Media Director. Russell is also a member of the CIPR’s Social Media Panel and regularly provides training for the PRCA.
Russell takes up his post with immediate effect.
