CNH North America expands deployment of SDL Global Information Management solution
Maidenhead, UK -- SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, today announced that CNH (Case New Holland) North America has standardized on an SDL Global Information Management solution for the delivery of multilingual content.
The decision to standardize on a GIM solution from SDL builds on the result of the successful multilingual support project in which SDL technology and SDL services are used to help CNH deliver multilingual support information to its network of 11,500 dealers in 160 countries. This will see CNH extend their usage from a departmental deployment, focused on one business application - driven from Europe, to a much broader implementation supporting the whole of CNH North America's multilingual requirements.
CNH will use a combination of SDL technology and SDL services to ensure the delivery of the best possible localized content quality. The SDL Translation Management SystemTM will be used to manage the complex processes involved in localizing technical documents. The SDL Knowledge-based Translation SystemTM, a patented solution providing publish quality content by combining sophisticated automated translation technology with human translation skills, will be used to automate the translation of new content.
"Partnering with SDL to optimize the translation of knowledge held within support databases and our technical publications, enables us to significantly improve the sharing of information across our different product brands and regions," commented Joe Pstrak, Director ￢ﾀﾓ of Technical Publications and Dealer e-Business Services at CNH. "SDL helps CNH provide multilingual support information to our worldwide dealer network much faster and at a dramatically lower cost. These improvements result in over 85% of dealer requests being resolved online through a self-service multilingual web site."
"We are happy to be working with such innovative companies like CNH," said Dr. Chris Boorman, Chief Marketing Officer for SDL. "CNH had a goal to improve their support services that they provide to their customers and saw that providing local language was the key to making this happen."
