Wednesday, 25 September, 2013

Despite translations being one of the more critical Business Support Services, professional translators are often behind-the-scene performers who toil hard with no recognition and all the more so in a country like India where it continues to be an unorganized industry. The BITS Indian Translation Awards were instituted in 2011 on a national level to pat the back of deserving language professionals.

The Aspiring Professional Translator of the Year Award, given in memory of the Late Ms. Ketki Shitre, carries a cash prize of Rs.11,000/- and a trophy. The winner also receives a 3-month paid internship at one of our offices and is promoted throughout the year as the face of Aspiring Translators in India. The winner is decided through an All India Translation Competition. The Competition is judged by established Professional Translators.

The Corporate Professional Translator of the Year Award carries a cash prize of Rs.11,000/- and a trophy. The winner is promoted throughout the year as the face of Corporate Professional Translators in India. The winner is decided through an All India Translation Competition that is judged by established Professional Translators.

The Professional Translator of the Year Award carries a cash prize of Rs.21,000/- and a trophy. The winner is promoted throughout the year as the face of Professional Translators in India. The winner is decided by an elite Panel of Judge that include Professional Translators and past winners.

The Awards would be presented at a GALA Awards Event on 30 September 2013 (World Translation Day).
