Across Releases White Paper on Machine Translation

Across Systems GmbH

Thursday, 5 September, 2019

Karlsbad. Across Systems GmbH now offers a free white paper that examines the subject of machine translation (MT) in detail. Among other things, the white paper shows enterprises how they can successfully implement machine translations in their processes. Moreover, Across offers special webinars and on-site training that feature hands-on instructions and specific action recommendations for the introduction and use of MT systems.

The advancing globalization and internationalization of e-commerce is accompanied by a growing demand for translations. Enterprises need to deliver product descriptions, marketing texts, brochures, etc. in the languages of the respective target countries within a very short time. Depending on the circumstances, DeepL and the like might be able to provide meaningful assistance in this process. In its new white paper, Across Systems describes how machine translation systems can be successfully introduced. The 20-page document draws attention to the risks and opportunities of machine translations, the factors that need to be considered when choosing and introducing a translation system, and why an MT engine should be connected to a translation management system. The white paper concludes with a comprehensive checklist.

Special Training Opportunities for MT and Post-Editing
Additionally, Across Systems has recently expanded its training offering, which now also features webinars and on-site training sessions that cover MT and post-editing. This includes webinars that provide basic information on these two subjects as well as webinars that specifically deal with post-editing of machine-translated texts. Moreover, Across offers an intensive one-day workshop directly at the companies' premises that shows how MT can influence and optimize the translation process. Together with the Across trainers, participants examine the existing processes and analyze them in order to ascertain how to best supplement them with MT.
