Acclaro Announces New Director of Global Marketing

Leading localization firm welcomes Stephanie Engelsen, international marketing expert

New York, NY (November 5, 2008) -- Acclaro, one of the world’s leading translation and localization firms, announced today that Stephanie Engelsen will lead its global marketing initiatives. Ms. Engelsen brings more than a decade of experience managing marketing and localization campaigns for companies as diverse as Apple, Harley-Davidson and L’Oreal.

Ms. Engelsen will lead marketing efforts at Acclaro, expanding awareness and driving growth with potential clients in a variety of international consumer and business-to-business markets. Building on an A-list roster of clients that includes Yahoo!, Sony, Williams-Sonoma and Cisco, Ms. Engelsen, will expand outreach to advance the work of Acclaro offices in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Paris and Buenos Aires. “I am thrilled to join Acclaro at this time and in this role,” says Ms. Engelsen. “From my days on the client side of localization, I understand the demands clients face in the rapidly evolving world of international business. Before joining Acclaro, Ms. Engelsen worked as an independent marketing and localization consultant in San Francisco and spearheaded several large localization projects for Apple and Harley-Davidson. As a marketing and communications consultant, her clients included Save the Children and CafePress.com. She worked as the U.S. Marketing and Public Relations Manager at easyInternetcafe (a division of the London-based easyGroup), and as the Global Marketing Manager at Redken/L’Oreal in New York City.

A native of California, Ms. Engelsen lived in Peru and France, and worked as an English teacher with the Peace Corps in Cameroon, before moving to New York City and settling in San Francisco. She speaks French and English fluently while maintaining a working knowledge of Spanish and German. She graduated cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor’s degree in World Arts and Culture, with an emphasis in Art History.
