Incorporation of grading and scoring, analyzing the resulting data per language and based on the results close communication between the vendor language leads and the Starwood review team led to a reduction in revised content as well as a better understanding and a closer relationship between the two teams. With nearly fifteen years of experience in the translation and localization industry, Benjamin Esch currently leads a translation and review team for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. In addition to managing relationships with external translation vendors, he works with stakeholders across regional, operational, and business teams to create and maintain a unified global brand voice across sixteen languages. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, he enjoys sports (running, soccer, martial arts, you name it), cooking (although poorly), beer, chocolate, and spending time with his family.
