With cloud computing, social media, and machine translation now realities, the world wants to be connected like never before. This means that language and translation are now firmly at the center of all human activity. Without language, virtually all that activity comes to a halt. Speaking at Brigham Young University’s Symposium on 30-31 January 2014, entitled "Humanities Plus: Advancing Global Dialogue and Initiatives through Experiential Learning,” GALA’s CEO Hans Fenstermacher stresses how languages today must be a core competency of every organization that seeks to remain relevant. He also touches on the challenges and opportunities in the language industry today.
Hans Fenstermacher is Chief Executive Officer of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). He has been in the language industry for over 30 years, as a translator, interpreter, technical writer, project manager, owner/entrepreneur and corporate executive.
