In 2016, Translators without Borders deployed the first-ever humanitarian interpreter roster to assist aid organizations and refugees in Greece. In this think! Interpreting talk, TWB Deputy Director Rebecca Petras discusses how the interpreter roster was developed, what challenges it presented, and next steps in the evolution of interpreting in a crisis. In this session, she also takes ideas and advice from those in the field, to help the organization with the next phase of deployment.
Rebecca manages and oversees all aspects of Translators without Borders’ work as its Deputy Director. Previously she was a board member for Translators without Borders and served on the executive committee as the head of the marketing committee.
