GALA MEMBERSHIP

How does my company join GALA?
To purchase GALA membership, the first step is to register yourself and your company on the GALA website. You can register via this link

After you have created both an individual profile and a company profile, navigate to your company profile page by clicking on your company name that appears in the brown bar at the top of the website.  

Once on your company profile page, click "Join or Renew" in the left navigation panel.  

From this page, you will then have several payment options:

  1. Purchase membership via credit card and sign-up for annual auto renewal
  2. Purchase membership via credit card with a one-time online payment
  3. Request to receive an invoice in advance of payment

How much does membership cost?
The annual cost of membership is USD $1000.

What forms of payment does GALA accept? 

We accept the following forms of payment for membership:

  1. Online (preferred): Log in to your GALA-global account and select 'Join or Renew.' Credit card or PayPal may be used to purchase a recurring subscription or make a one-time payment.
  2. PayPal. You may submit payment directly through PayPal (contact us for details).
  3. Credit card. Contact us for details or fax your credit card info to +1 815-346-2361.
  4. Wire transfer (contact us for details).

What is the membership period?
Membership is valid for 12 months from the date your payment is received.  Once you submit the membership payment, you will receive a response from GALA within 1-3 business days.  Official member status is confirmed after we receive your dues payment.

Are freelance translators or individuals eligible to become members?
GALA membership is open to companies, organizations, individuals, and institutions that are a legal constituted company for whom language is an integral part of their business. However, please note that GALA does not have membership levels for companies of different sizes. Non-member freelance translators and others are welcome and encouraged to participate in GALA activities including networking events, webinars, conferences, and contributing to GALA publications.

How can I renew my company’s membership?
To renew your company’s membership, navigate to your company profile page by clicking on the name of your company in the brown bar at the top of the website.  Once on your company profile page, click "Join or Renew."  You will then have several options: 1) purchase membership via credit card and sign-up for auto renewal, 2) purchase membership via credit card with a one-time payment, or 3) receive an invoice in advance of payment.  Should you have any questions or need assistance, please contact [email protected].

How can I add employees to my company's membership?
To ensure your employees are receiving your company's membership benefits, all employees must be linked to your company account.  To do this, please refer to the instructions on the Add/Remove Employees to my Company Profile FAQ page.  Employees may be added to your account by a company "Master User" or may register themselves on the GALA website.  During registration, employees should sign-up with their company email address.  Doing so will link them to your company account, if the domain names match.  If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

How can I list my company in the directory?
The GALA Member Directory features all active GALA member companies.  A listing in the directory, an expanded company profile page, and logo placement in the rotating GALA member reel are included with membership.  To join GALA, please see the information above, or contact [email protected].

How can I edit my company’s profile?
To edit your company’s information you must first be designated as a "Master User."  Please see the instructions on the "How Do I Edit My Company Profile?" FAQ page.  If you require assistance, please contact [email protected].

How can I upload or change my company’s logo?
To upload or change your company’s logo you must first be designated as a "Master User."  Please see the instructions on the "How Do I Edit My Company Profile?" FAQ page.  If you have uploaded a logo and the sizing is distorted, please send a high resolution copy of your logo to [email protected] and GALA staff will assist you in resizing and uploading your logo.

SUBMITTING CONTENT

How do I post a press release, blog, calendar item, or article to the GALA website?
GALA members may directly submit press releases, blogs, calendar items, and articles to the GALA website.  To do so, please navigate to your individual profile page by clicking on your name in the brown bar at the top of the website.  Use the tabs in the left navigation panel to post the appropriate item.  You may also view more instructions on the "How Do I Post Content" FAQ page. Most submissions require GALA staff approval before they are posted. Due to the number of submissions, not all submissions will be posted.  Please refer to GALA’s Content Submission Guidelines.  If you require assistance, please contact [email protected].

How do I post a job to the GALA website?
Both members and non-members may directly post jobs to the GALA website. Members post jobs for free; non-members pay $200 for job postings. To post a job, please navigate to your individual profile page by clicking on your name in the brown bar at the top of the website.  Use the "Job Postings" tab in the left navigation panel on your individual profile page to create the post.  All posts are subject to GALA staff discretion and may be edited.  If you require assistance, please contact [email protected].

How do I propose a GALA webinar presentation?
To propose a GALA webinar presentation, please send a title and abstract to [email protected].  GALA members can present Expert webinars free of charge and Sponsored webinars for $750.  Non-members can present Expert webinars free of charge and Sponsored webinars for $995.
