Calling all localization students, recent graduates, and new professionals! Join us for our next 60-minute networking event to hear the stories of three distinguished entertainment localization professionals and connect with like-minded up-and-comers.

Registrants will spend roughly 15 minutes with each of our three speakers. Speakers will share a quick synopsis of their background and specialties, and then the floor will be open for registrants to ask questions, engage in discussion, and share contact information.

Marina Ilari
Terra Translations

Marina Ilari, CT is an ATA certified English>Spanish translator with over 16 years of experience in the translation industry. She has worked as a translator, editor, and quality assurance specialist for many companies around the world with a special focus on creative translations and video game localization. She is the chief executive officer of Terra Translations and co-host of the podcast about translation, En Pantuflas.

Maryam Jaddoo
Wizards of the Coast

Maryam is the Head of Localization at Wizards of the Coast, a division of Hasbro. Her team is responsible for the Localization of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. She joined Wizards in 2011 and has built the localization team from the ground up. Maryam was responsible for setting up the company's internal processes, which included selecting and integrating our localization tools and systems as well as defining metrics to track content quality and project efficiency.

David Casipit
VIZ Media

Dave is the head of anime localization at VIZ Media. His team is responsible for the localization of some of the leading series in anime, such as Naruto, Sailor Moon, Bleach, One-Punch Man and many more. He also sits on VIZ's anime production committees as a company representative overseeing creative, international production and culturalization aspects of upcoming projects. Prior to VIZ Media, Dave was a member of the "Treehouse," Nintendo's vaunted localization team, where he localized games in series as varied as Super Smash Brothers, Animal Crossing, Professor Layton, Kirby and others. He began his localization career at Tokyo Disney Resort working to localize Disney attractions for Japan and bridging the local adaptation team with Disney Imagineers in Burbank, CA.
